El Bastón del Rey only uses 7 ½ year old blue agave that is grown in the highlands near the town of Tequila. We are extremely focused on terroir, and the age of the agave gives it deeper flavor development and provides more natural sweetness than the younger agave used by most tequila makers.
The agave piñas are slow roasted over robles wood (a Mexican oak) for three days rather than being steamed (which causes loss of flavor and complexity) or baked in an oven.
No shortcuts are taken and no additives are used that would affect the perfect flavor of the 7 ½ year aged agave used in all of the El Bastón del Rey tequilas. - No yeast, no flavoring, no chemicals, no sugar cane alcohol, no juice - just the pure flavor of the best agave in the world. The tequilas are double distilled for additional smoothness.
El Bastón del Rey is praised by connoisseurs and tequila amateurs.
More importantly, the tequila’s incredible smoothness, natural sweetness and hint of smoke make it an overwhelming favorite with casual drinkers and the key retail segments –women and millenials-.
The Silver and Reposado tequilas make the best margaritas and cocktails possible and give mixologists the ability to craft cocktails that their customers are willing to pay a premium for.
The Añejo and Extra Añejo are two of the finest sipping tequilas available.
